Colour? Maybe ... not!

So Carol and I take a trip to the local to Lush ... Which really is not so local! On the way back on the train we decide to divert to Jinny ... Black hair and beauty supplies store. We peruse the store for various things, I am constanly on the lookout for a good non alcohol based moisturiser for my loc's, and Carol ... Hair dye. Suddenly I have this great desire to colour my hair!
I thought about it on and off but remember the results of colouring my natural hair in the past, and regreting it. Then I look at Carols and her newbie baby locks look lovely with this same brown Cinnamon shade. Lovely!

So I get on the phone to  Liz and ask if she colours her own locs ... and errrr ...  could I colour mine?

GUESS what she said?! ...  NO!

Nai ... no darling, not your hair ... it's still too soft! She did not want to have to re do my whole head!

So, undeterred, I thought about another temporary method. So I found this Dark and Lovely Colour Flash  Mousse  that washes out in 6 to 8 washes. Yaaay ... I thought ...

I used Copper ... sumthin ... Copper Burst.

The Process

After the Wedding  ... result of colour and braid out

The Day After the night before ...

What did I think??

RUBBISH!

Firstly, I  understand that to get a good colour peroxide/ammonia MAY be necessary, and I don't want to go down that road right now.

... this product gave something of a colour, although it felt like a residue ... I did this the day before a wedding I had to attend. My Locks were fine on the day, but this image is a day after,
I couldn't stand it!!! The colour was there but the condition was YUK. It felt dry and rough like some sort of coating was on it ... nasty!

I LOVE to play in my hair and I could not stand how it felt after using that cheap dye!

So as you can imagine I took this pic and immediately went to WASH that C**P OUT!

LOL!!

It REALLY was not nice at all!
I even picked up a bottle of SLS filled Herbal Essence Hello Hydration to help me remove and restore !
I washed it twice with HH then twice with Lush Curly Wurly and  then drenched it with Lush American Cream Conditioner.

American Cream ... my latest Lush love! It has the consistency that works for me! It has a creamy colour but is not thick , I add a little water to it and apply .

Ofo! ...  IT SMELLS BEA UUU TIFUL! haahaha!
I got a small bottle for about £4/5 pounds ... then another. Now I need a bigger bottle!

I had stopped conditioning for a long while, using Curly Wurly when I needed a moisturising/conditioning wash.  American 'dream' Cream ... hmmm ... LUSH!

Summer, 27 months locked in love ...

I have been on summer break (6 weeks)  for a couple of weeks now, and looong may it continue!!

Recovering from the flu, yes flu not a cold, flu. The one where you hurt in random places you didn't know could hurt. It subtly hit me mid last week of term, maybe due to it being the end of another school year, my body raced ahead of time and decided to relax ... then POW!

The ONLY thing that looked decent about me then, was ... yes you guessed it, my hair!

I have relaxed a LOT regarding products and potter to the shower now picking up one of my regulars.
I have tried a new Lush product today which doubles as a shower gel/shampoo ...
B Never too busy to B beautiful (or sumthin like that!)

My perspective is this ... Lush products have that edge where I experienced absolutely NO build up over the last few months. NONE and my lovely hair grows stronger, thicker, lovelier.

The only thing I want now is to try Sisterlocks stuff ... YEP I WANT ... to erm ... TEST, is that right Ofo?
ofo's (DIY) sisterlocks ... test? (GRIN)

Yesterday I managed to drag myself away from the craziness going on and spend a good HOUR washing it all outta ma head! And I really did!

I used T Gel for dry hair, and then BIG. as big gives me a lotta body. I must say I was a bit slack on moisturising, in fact since the holidays began I have been extremely lax in my haircare regime in general. Yes really, me ... well slack (LOL!)
Holland and B have another 'penny sale' and I got my pure coconut oil buy one get one for a penny.
my locks love it!

Truly Lazy days of summer .... and may they last forever ...

Social Breakdown; Summer 2011

'The Kingdom Sufferest violence and the violent take it by force...'

I have tried to do this soo many times this week, but this disgusting 4/5 days had taken over all our lives. I could not move from thr BBC / Sky new channels, Because we needed to know what was happening next, and where.

I was raised in Hackney ... lived there for 22 years, then I spent 12 years in Tottenham.

Tottenham High Road. N17

This building below stood next door to my sons' school. Sony, and all 700+ ? JOBS! ... RIP! ...

I received the above image (night) at about midnight on the 8th by BB messenger, Looked out of the window and saw the sky was filled with thick black smoke, we were in shock.
This place is/was 5 minutes away from our home.

The View the next morning from my window.

                                                                            Hackney.

They are calling the looting spree 'aggressive shopping'.

...................... May God have mercy on their soul!........................

As with all things, nothing is without consequence, nothing.
Oddly enough these gangs had already 'arranged' a 'truce' (postcode truce) to allow themselves to manouvre into all territories.
These are the same vile infidels who were stabbing/shooting/killing innocent young men (and each other) due to being affiliated to the wrong gang/ vengeance and or 'slipping' in another gangs postcode. (zip code)

and all this madness, no wickedness for what?

Actually ... right now I do not care WHY ...!

The Bible say's that ALLL things work together for good, and right now the good will be the undoing of this evil gang culture trying to posses our young men.
LET GOD ARISE and HIS enemies be SCATTERED!

More than just my hair!! Tottenham

There is too much I can say ... I will start with the fact that I lived in that area for 12 years. Not having all the information, I will say that WE as a people are ANGRY at the youth and gangs that have destroyed the  livelihoods and area of Tottenham, THIS was NOT justified! Burning down our OWN community solves NOTHING and creates even more deprivation. I am watching the total carnage. My Daughter had to struggle her way through just to get to some form of transport to go to work. She is 22 and devastated as she witnessed the devastation of the area she grew up in.

I will be back on this issue.

Let GOD ARISE ...
